Functioning as the new entry plaza to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation headquarters, this .25-acre public space provides employees and visitors a new public green and outdoor amenity area for lunch-time gatherings and small socials. With a tight budget the goal was to not only create a comfortable space, but use durable regional materials and capture stormwater on-site through a combination of pervious pavers, silva cells, and rain gardens.
Role: Project work completed at SmithGroup. Eric’s team role was project design from conceptual design through design development.
