Eric Schuchardt is POPLAND’s founding principal. Trained as a landscape architect and urban designer, Eric’s 10 plus years of professional experience has involved a variety of projects across the design and planning spectrum, from intricate plazas and parks to comprehensive waterfront and campus master plans. Regardless of project type and scale, Eric approaches design and planning from the human experience, blending the arts and sciences to create imaginative outdoor spaces connected to place.
As a faculty member in UW-Madison’s Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture, Eric teaches advanced design studios with an emphasis on human-centered design. Eric received his MLA in Urban Design degree from Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, and a BS in Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to founding POPLAND Eric worked at SmithGroup, OLIN, and SWA Group.
